Wolfgang Goerke

Wolfgang Goerke, age 58, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 208 West Broadway in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Mark Innocenti officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN with a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at the funeral home from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Wolfgang Goerke was born on April 8, 1954 in Bremen, Germany to Gerhard & Gertrud (Persky) Goerke. In 1961, the family moved to the United States settling in Bellingham, MN. The family then moved to Tunerville, SD and later to Volga, SD. He was united in marriage to Mary Pinkston on June 15, 1974 in Brookings, SD. In September, 1974, the couple moved to Little Falls. Wolfgang was employed for 33 years with Anderson Custom Processing in Little Falls retiring in 2009. He enjoyed word find puzzles, going to coffee and lunch every day, reading and browsing in antique shops. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Mary of Little Falls, MN; sister, Gabriele (Gary) Brockelsby of Murfreesboro, TN; step-mother, Shirley Goerke of Sebeka, MN; step-brothers and sisters, Eddie Horton, Darin Horton, Sheila Horton and Julie Horton all of Wadena, MN; sisters-in-law, Patricia P. (Willis) Opp of Golden, CO, Judy (Gerald) Willis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Carol Gillaspie of Golden, CO and many nieces and nephews. Wolfgang was preceded in death by his parents.
