William Hawkins

William Hawkins, 82 year old resident of Pierz, MN, died Wednesday, February 19 at the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN.A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

William Robert Hawkins was born July 30, 1931 in LaPorte, MN to the late Irven and Estella (Davis) Hawkins. He attended school until the eighth grade.William enlisted in the United States Army on April 10, 1951 and was honorably discharged on April 9, 1953.He returned to Minnesota and began his career in farming and owning his own landscaping business. William was united in marriage to Jeannette Ann Yoho on April 7, 1951.The couple made their home in Coon Rapids, MN. William enjoyed watching old western movies, coin collecting, landscaping, farming, reading, playing cards, being around family and his beloved cat Elsie.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tami Haeg, Marina Hawkins, Mae (Leonard) Haberman, Jessie (Kristina Soyring) Woods, Daniel Hawkins, Kenneth (Cindy) Hawkins, Darrell Hawkins and Clark Hawkins; brother, Donald (Roberta) Hawkins; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeannette Hawkins; son, Brett Robert Hawkins; siblings, Roy, Irene, Mabel, Elsie, Edna, Dale and Ruth.
