Walter J. Pierzinski, age 90, of Harding, MN, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the Harding Place in Harding, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, MN, with Rev. Skaria Johnus officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 a" 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz with a Rosary Sodality rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by a parish prayer service at 5:30 P.M. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the service. Walter John Pierzinski was born on June 6, 1917 in Little Falls, Minnesota to the late Albert & Agnes (Puchalla) Pierzinski. He grew up in the Little Falls area eventually moving to the Harding area. He was united in marriage to Exilda Marie Doucette on May 2, 1944 in Belle Prairie. The couple made their home and lived their entire married life in the Harding area. Walter was a farmer and also worked in construction with Tony Dombovy, Hardrives and Tri-City. Some of Walter's hobbies were fishing, hunting, latch hook kits, umping baseball games and especially raccoon hunting with his dog, Mitzy. He enjoyed playing dice and bingo with his new friends he made at the Harding Place. He also enjoyed his Saturday morning breakfast with his friends at St. Mathias along with the occasional pull tab. Every year Walter looked forward to celebrating his birthday with his daughter, Linda as they shared the same birth date. Walter was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Gary (Carol) Pierzinski of Brainerd, MN, Allen Pierzinski of Freedhem, MN and Linda (Wally) Tautges of Brainerd, MN; brother, Jerome (Gen) Pierzinski of Carmichael, CA; grandchildren, Amanda Tautges, Brandon Tautges and Melanie Pierzinski and great-grandchild, Hunter Adamski. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Agnes (Puchalla) Pierzinski; wife, Exilda (Doucette) Pierzinski and many brothers and sisters. Casket bearers are Dave Schubert, Eddie Schubert, Jim Vogel, Steve Vogel, Ronny DeRosier and Billy Tautges.
