Virginia Brown

Virginia Brown, age 96, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015, at St. Ottos Care Center in Little Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 9 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 8 and from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Wednesday all at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls.

There will be a Rosary by the Christian Mothers and the Daughters of Isabella at 4:30pm Tuesday, Dec. 8th at the funeral homefollowed by a Prayer Service by the Secular Franciscans and the Healing Light Prayer Group at 5:30pm.

Virginia Catherine Benson was born on December 24, 1918, in Havre, Montana, the daughter of Clarence Anna (Eisel) Benson. She graduated from St. Francis High School in Little Falls with the Class of 1936. She was united in marriage to Robert T. Brown on October 16, 1943, at St. Lukes Catholic Church in Ogallala, Nebraska. Virginia worked as a waitress and a nanny after high school as well as a housekeeper. Following her marriage, she raised her family. She enjoyed attending church events, reading and listening to books on tape, cooking and baking, embroidery, volunteer work and garage sales. Her volunteer work included St. Ottos Care Center from 1984 to 2009, St. Francis Convent, Clothes Review, and St. Marys Church as a Eucharistic Minister. Virginia was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Secular Franciscans, Healing Light Prayer Group, Christian Mothers, a 35 year member of the Charismatic Renewal and a member of St. Marys Catholic Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert E. Brown of Ely, NV, James D. (Karen) Brown of Tucson, AZ, and Mary Beth(Ron) McKinnon of Chiloquin, OR; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sibling, Jerry (Collette) Benson of Little Falls, MN.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Anna; husband, Robert T. Brown; grandson, Joshua R. Hackitt-Brown; granddaughter, Catherine R. Brown and siblings, Del Benson and Clarence (Helen) Benson and Marie (Edward) Blake.
