Victoria Vicki (Mrs. Ray) Dobis, age 86, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013, at St. Gabriels Hospital in Little Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on December 18, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating.Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN, with a Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 5:30 P.M.
Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00 10:30 A.M.
Victoria Rose Jelinski was born on March 2, 1927, in Flensburg, MN, the daughter of Joseph & Sophia (Super) Jelinski.She grew up on a farm and attended country school through the 8th grade.She worked at Valet Cleaners and St. Gabriels Hospital.She was united in marriage to Ray Dobis on October 12, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN.The couple lived in the Little Falls area all of their married life.Along with working at the cleaners and the hospital, she also worked at Munsingwear in Little Falls.In 1960, the couple purchased Dobis Oil Company on the west side of Little Falls and in 1977 they started Dobis Tire Center across Highway 27 from the oil company.Together with her life-long partner they owned and operated the businesses for 42 years, retiring in 2002.Victoria was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.She enjoyed dancing with Ray, needlework, quilting, word search, crossword puzzles, playing cards, and visits to the casino.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Ray Dobis of Little Falls, MN; children, Mary Jo Retka of Little Falls, MN, and Debbie (Bruce) Pederson of Little Falls, MN; siblings, Leonard Jelinski of Little Falls, MN and Elizabeth Piekarski of Little Falls, MN; granddaughter, Kristin (Gene) Woodford and great-grandson, Hayden Woodford all of Royalton; step-granddaughters, Katie (Marc) Box and Anna Pederson and three step-great-grandchildren, Lizzie, Michael, and Annie Box.
Victoria was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Florian Jelinski, Edward Jelinski, Johanna Maciej, Eleanor DeFoe, Lawrence Jelinski, and Louis Jelinski.
