Veronica Otremba

Veronica "Vern" Otremba, 81 year old resident of Pierz, MN, died Sunday, April 7 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 11 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN, with Father Kenneth Popp officiating. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery. Friends may gather from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 10 and from 9:00-10:00 A.M. on Thursday at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN. The Christian Mothers and the Pierz American Legion Auxiliary will pray at 4:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Veronica "Vern" Seppelt was born March 20, 1932. She attended and graduated from Onamia High School. She was united in marriage to Wilfred Otremba on June 28, 1955 at St. John's Church in Lastrup, MN. The couple lived in Fridley, MN, where Vern worked for Telex until 1964. She then worked at Honeywell for 30 years. In 1994, the couple retired and moved to Center Valley (Pierz). The couple attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Wilfred died in 2004. Vern continued living in Center Valley (Pierz) until her death. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, fishing, traveling to see family, friends and sight seeing and gardening. Vern treasured her time spent with her family especially her granddaughter, Emily. Vern was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and American Legion Auxiliary. She will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She led an active life until the end. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bryan Edward Otremba of Dickinson, North Dakota and Bradley Allen (Karen) Otremba of Inver Grove Heights, MN; granddaughter, Emily Otremba of Inver Grove Heights, MN; siblings, Richard (Rose) Seppelt of Lastrup, MN, Eugene (Margaret) Seppelt of Lastrup, MN, Frederick (Debbie) Seppelt of Hillman, MN, Adella (Leander) Kapsner; Marcia (Gary) Koering of Phoenix, AZ and a brother-in-law, Edward (Olette) Otremba of Fridley, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Catherine Seppelt; husband, Wilfred J. Otremba on Friday, November 5, 2004 and a sister, Joanne Gross.
