Vernon P. Boltz

Vernon Peter Boltz, age 79 of Harding, MN, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Veterans Medical Center in St. Cloud, MN. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN. Military Rites will be conducted by the Pierz American Legion Post #341. Vernon Peter Boltz was born August 2, 1930 in Waumandee, WI to the late John M. and Matila H. (Faber) Boltz. He attended school through the 12th grade. Vernon entered the United States Air Force on January 5, 1951 and received an Honorable Discharge on October 13, 1953. He met Eleanor L. Muehlbauer in 1975. For many years, Vernon and Eleanor lived in the Twin Cities where Vernon worked for KP Manufacturing in Minneapolis, MN. After retiring, the couple moved to Harding, MN. Vernon and Eleanor were united in marriage on July 5, 2004 at the Morrison County Government Center in Little Falls, MN. Following their marriage, they lived near Harding residing there until his death. Vernon was a member of Pierz American Legion Post #341. He enjoyed feeding & watching birds, building windmills, listening to Polka music, auctions, hunting, fishing, took great pride in his yard work and working on his vehicles, riding his little red scooter and joking with his family & friends. He loved his neighbors dearly and enjoyed family gatherings. Left to cherish Vernon's memory are his wife, Eleanor of Harding, MN; children, Vernon (Pete) Boltz of Minneapolis, MN, Carolyn (Lucky) Cordingly of Brainerd, MN, Brenda Tromblay of Brainerd, MN, step-son, Gerr (Pam) Muelhbauer (spelling of last name is correct) of St. Michael, MN, Betty Beck & companion, Bill Kast, of Bemidji, MN, Diane Muehlbauer of Minneapolis, MN, Marilyn Muehlbauer & Marlene Muehlbauer both of Minneapolis, MN, Rosemary (Bill) Thomas of Buffalo, MN and Arlene Muehlbauer of Becker, MN; siblings, Kenneth (Doris) Boltz of Elizabeth, CO, Dorothy (Gail) Luethi of Oshkosh, WI, Viola (Michael) Henry of Kingwood, TX, Lucille Smith of Arizona City, AZ, Mary (George) Cierzan of Bellavista, AR, Beverly (John) Durnen of Winona, MN and Joyce (Gene) Glomsji of Buffalo City, WI and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Vernon was preceded in death his parents, John & Matila Boltz; brother, John Boltz, Jr. and a step-son, Allen Muehlbauer.
