Tony Boros, age 74, of rural Little Falls, passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 at his home in Pike Creek Township, Morrison County, MN. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 23, 2009 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN with Fr. Leo Moenkedick, Fr. Art Hoppe, Fr. Mark Innocenti, Fr. Leo Otto and Fr. Raymond Donnay concelebrating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 9:00 P.M. Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls with Parish Prayers at 6:00 P.M. followed by Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 8:00 P.M. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday from 8:00 - 10:00 A.M. Anthony "Tony" Paul Boros was born on April 11, 1935 on the family farm in Pike Creek Township, Morrison County, MN, to the late Paul & Helen (Kaiser) Boros. He grew up on the family farm and attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School and graduated from Little Falls High School, Class of 1953. He was united in marriage to Rita M. Litke on July 8, 1957 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. The couple made their home in Coon Rapids before moving to the family farm in 1964 where they farmed and raised their family. Through the years, Tony also worked as a redi-mix driver, a bartender, a bar owner, served as a special deputy for the Morrison County Sheriff's Department, served on the Pike Creek Township Board and worked at the Hennepin Paper Mill. Tony enjoyed time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing the role of St. Nicholas and Santa Claus during the Christmas season for 34 years. Family meant a lot to Tony. He enjoyed family gatherings when everyone would come home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Other hobbies and interests included woodworking, Bible study, hunting, playing Cribbage, fishing, four-wheeling, camping, attending Blue Grass festivals and traveling. Tony's faith was an important part of his daily life. He had a deep love for the Blessed Virgin Mary and praying the Rosary daily. He was also active in his church where he served on the parish council and lectored for 25 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was a 3rd Degree Knight, 4th Degree Knight and a member of the 4th Degree Honor Guard. He also took part in Minnesota TEC and REC (jail ministry). Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Rita; children, Anita (David) Miller, Mary (Tom) Kunkel, RoseAnn (Richard) Wong, Tony (Sara) Boros, Yvonne (Ken) Stoltman, Tim (Kris) Boros and Terri (Dennis) Gill; 22 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and siblings, Ralph Boros, Louise Meyer, Marcella Lawler, Alvina Roden and Patricia Oswald. Tony was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Maria Boros; his parents, Paul & Helen (Kaiser) Boros; an infant sister, Irene Boros and three brothers-in-law.
