Thomas M. Lyter, age 45 of Little Falls, MN passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 13, 2009 at 12:00 noon at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with Father Nick Landsberger officiating. Interment will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Little Falls. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday and Monday from 8:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (southeast chapel) in Little Falls. Parish Prayers will be said at 7:30 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral chapel. Thomas M. Lyter was born June 8, 1963 in Chicago, IL. to Richard Lyter and the late Janet (Schoessling) Lyter. As a young boy, he grew up in Chicago, IL. At the age of nine years, his family moved to Little Falls, MN. Tom attended Lincoln Elementary School, Little Falls Middle School and Little Falls High School. Following high school, Tom entered the Army National Guard serving for six years. He received an Honorable Discharge on June 4, 1983. Tom was united in marriage to Brenda Girtz on October 24, 1980. Tom and Brenda had one child, Krista. The couple later divorced. Tom later met and married Mary Haggerty on August 10, 1996. The couple lived in Little Falls. They had two sons, Matthew and Nathan. Tom worked for C & L Distributing, drove truck for various trucking companies and for the last eight years, drove for USF Holland Trucking. He cherished his time with his family, especially with his sons, Matthew and Nathan. Each year, Tom, Mary, Matthew and Nathan enjoyed camping, hunting and 4th of July trips to North Dakota. Krista, Matthew and Nathan loved their dad's "Donald Duck" voice. Tom always had a great sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley Motorcycle and scuba diving. Tom was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie. Tom is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Matthew and Nathan at home; daughter, Krista (Joe) Gebert of Cambridge, MN; father, Richard (Jan) Lyter of Mesa, AZ; brothers, Rick (Sue) Lyter of Fort Atkinson, WI, Michael (Tracy) Lyter of Little Falls, MN; sister, Peggy (Tom) Monahan of Little Falls, MN; grandmother, Veronica "Grandma Tom" Lyter of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Austin, Zachary & Brena Gebert and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Lyter; grandparents, Raymond & Josephine Schoessling and Alfred Lyter. Casketbearers are Tim Lyter, Jim Lyter, Jamie Lyter, David Lyter, Jeff Lyter and Joe Kuchinski
