Theresia Fussy, age 94, of Royalton, MN, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 21, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN with Fr. Glenn Krystosek and Fr. Laurn Virnig concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 27 and from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 28th at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, 8 Second Street North, Royalton, MN. There will be Rosary by the Christian Mothers and the Daughters of Isabella at 4:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 7:30 P.M. Theresia was born on September 10, 1917 in Royalton, MN, the daughter of Isidore & Rose (Janski) Schlichting. She attended school through the 10th grade and then worked on her parent's farm and house cleaned. She was united in marriage to Joseph A. Fussy in a double ring ceremony with her sister, Margaret and Joseph's brother, Peter Fussy on October 12, 1937 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. The couple had four children, Alois, Clarence, Arlene and Karen. Theresia has lived in Royalton all her life where she raised her children and farmed with her husband. She and Joe purchased and lived on his mother's farm for eight years. They lived in Royalton for one year owning the Royalton Produce from 1946-1950. They then purchased a hobby farm and a 360 acre farm. Joe died in 1960 in a work related accident and Theresia continued living on the farm. Theresia was a homemaker, worked in cleaning services at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, cooked for Royalton School from 1964-1974, worked at Jerry's Cafe and Treasure City in Royalton, picked eggs in her son's chicken barn from 1974-1983. She sold the farm in 1980 and lived in two apartment complexes in Royalton and in 2006 moved to Riverside Assisted Living. Theresia enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, quilting, cooking, baking, gardening, canning, bowling on the Senior League, birthday club, playing cards and bingo. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, St. Kathryn Mission, Royalton Senior Center, the Daughters of Isabella and did a lot of volunteering. Theresia treasured her family, adoring the little ones and so proud of the big ones. She was a "social butterfly" and touched so many lives in the community and church she loved. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Alois "Sam" (Arlene) Fussy of Royalton, Clarence (Paula) Fussy of Amery, WI, Arlene (Roger) Stanek of Little Falls and Karen (Gary) Sobiech of Brooklyn Park; 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; siblings, Evelyn Krystosek of Holdingford and Bernice (Claude) Wollack of Duluth and many nieces, nephews and friends. Theresia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; great-grandson, Anthony Gall; siblings, Alfred, Anthony, Joseph, Cyril, Isabel Smieja, Margaret Fussy, Rose Czeck, Regina Miller, Loretta Kroll.
