Thelma "Pat" DeBerry age 90, of Hillman, MN and formerly of Sutter Creek, CA passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007 at the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. (during the visitation hours) Tuesday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN. Friends & relatives may call from 10:00-12:00 noon Tuesday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz. Thelma "Pat" DeBerry was born September 30, 1916 in Frederick, OK to the late Edward C. and Julia Anna (Daugherty) LeBel. She moved with her family at the age of four to California where they farmed. She worked as a waitress and cook, but also worked in the fields of Knotts Berry Farm. She was united in marriage to Don D. DeBerry on April 24, 1934 in Parker, AZ. Following their marriage, Thelma (Pat) and Don moved back to California where they raised their family. At the age of 40, Pat decided to change her career and became a Psychiatric Technician. She worked at the Camarillo State Hospital in Carmarillo, CA for 19 years at which time she retired. Her husband, Don, died in the 1970's. Following her retirement, Pat moved to Eureka, CA and cared for her sister, Laura Parker, for 17 years. She later moved to Sutter Creek, CA. In 2005, Pat moved to Hillman, MN where she lived with her daughter, Jeanette "Jet" Hoheisel & her husband, James. Pat loved to travel and went to Puerto Rico twice to see her son, Donald. In 2005, Pat traveled to Hawaii with her daughter, Jet, and sister-in-law, Laura DeBerry. She and her daughter, Jet, went to Arizona and Mexico often. Pat enjoyed traveling, needle point, crocheting, reading and cooking. She was known for her great personality. Pat is survived by her sons & daughter, Don DeBerry & wife, Laura, of Fallon, NV, Monte DeBerry & wife, Lyn, of Salt Lake City, UT, Jeanette "Jet" Hoheisel & husband, James, of Hillman, MN and family friend, Bob DeGraeve, of Henderson, NV; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents; daughter, Sandra Woolworth; brothers, Bill, Edward, Walter, John & A.D. LeBel and sisters, Hattie Martin & Maura Parker.
