Sister Mary Virginia Dingmann

Sister Mary Virginia Dingmann, 91, died on March 13, 2009, at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls, Minn. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis Convent on Thursday, March 19, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at St. Francis Convent on Monday, March 18, from 4 - 8:30 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral on March 19. A wake service will be held at the Convent at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18. Arrangements are by the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, Little Falls. Sister Mary Virginia Dingmann was born on March 13, 1918, near Richmond, Minn. She was the fifth of 12 children born to the late Henry and Gertrude (Ramler) Dingmann. She was accepted as a Franciscan Sister of Little Falls, Minnesota, on August 12, 1945. She made first profession of vows on August 12, 1947, and final vows on August 12, 1950. She was a Franciscan Sister for 64 years. Sister Virginia was a seamstress, homemaker and gardener. She ministered at St. Cloud and St. Francis Convent, Little Falls. Sister Virginia was preceded in death by siblings: Albert, Alfred, Dorothy, Erwin, Frances Kohnen, Leander, Paul, Raymond and William. Survivors include siblings: Irene Schneider (Raymond), Kimball, and Joseph (Eileen), Richmond; Sisters-in-law: Teresa, Cold Spring; Alma, Sauk Rapids; Viola, Marie and Mildred, Richmond; many nieces and nephews and her Franciscan Community.
