Sister Mary Monica (Leona) Jacobs, 93, died on August 20, 2008 at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls, Minn A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis Convent on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at 10:30 .m. Friends may call at St. Francis Convent on Friday, August 22 from 4 - 8:30 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Saturday. A wake service will be held at the Convent at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 22. Sister Mary Monica was born on April 8, 1915, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She was the first of three children born to the late Frank and Anna (Danzl) Jacobs. After her mother's death and her father's remarriage, three more sisters and a brother were added to the family. She was accepted as a Franciscan Sister of Little Falls, Minnesota, on August 12, 1933. She made first profession of vows on August 12, 1935, and final vows on August 12, 1938. She was a Franciscan Sister for 75 years. Sister Monica was preceded in death by siblings: Ervin and Gilbert. Survivors include siblings: Robert (Luella) and Evelyn (Robert) Briggs, St. Cloud; Donna Ruff (Raymond), Brooklyn Park; and Dolores Utecht, Eden Valley and her Franciscan Community.
