Sister Mary Blanche Fyle

Little Falls, Minnesota............Sister Mary Blanche Fyle, died on November 13, 2011, at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls, Minn. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis Convent on Thursday, November 17, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at St. Francis Convent on Wednesday, November 16, from 4 - 8:30 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Thursday, November 17. A wake service will be held at the Convent at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Arrangements are by the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, Little Falls. Dolorosa Fyle was born on June 28, 1920, near Monticello, Minn. She was the fifth of 11 children born to the late Jacob and Mary (Menth) Fyle. She was accepted as a Franciscan Sister of Little Falls, Minnesota, on August 12, 1939, and received the name Sister Mary Blanche. She made her first profession of vows on August 12, 1941, and final vows on August 12, 1944. She was a Franciscan Sister for 72 years. Sister Blanche was preceded in death by siblings: Lorrayne Wikelius, Brazil (Bill), Marie Nelson, Lester, Walter and Larry; and brother's-in-law: Ed Wikelius, Carroll Nelson, Clarence Rank, Larry Rooney and Donald Powers. Survivors include siblings: Delrose Rank, Portland, Oreg.; Sister Sharon, OSF, Alexandria; Eugene, Monticello; Barbara Rooney, Cambridge; sisters-in-law: Eleanor, Monticello; Bernadette, Cold Spring; Lois, Nisswa; and Joyce, Monticello; nieces and nephews and her Franciscan Community. Donations to Franciscan Sisters Ministries preferred.
