Sandra K Kliber

Sandra K. Kliber, age 63, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013, at St. Gabriels Hospital in Little Falls, MN after a lengthy battle with dementia.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013, at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN with Rev. David Sperstad officiating.Interment will be in St. Marys Cemetery in Little Falls.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN.

Sandra K. (Erickson) Kliber was born on July 8, 1950 to Vernon and Charlotte Erickson. She lived most of her childhood in Inver Grove Heights and attended Rosemount High School.She graduated in 1968 and knew without a doubt that her life belonged in nursing.In the fall after graduation, she attended Fairview Nursing School where she graduated as a registered nurse in 1971.She began her career at the old Fairview Hospital where she worked her first nursing job for two years.She moved to Little Falls, worked for a year, and then moved on to Onamia, MN and assumed the position of head nurse for the next year.In 1976, she moved back to Little Falls, MN and passionately pursued her nursing career at St. Gabriels Hospital where she earned the friendship and respect of many nurses, doctors and patients. As a nurse, Sandy strived to heal both mind and body for the hundreds of patients she cared for throughout her years in the surgical center at St. Gabriels Hospital. In addition to taking care of their physical medical needs, Sandy is often remembered for compassionately caring for her patients emotional needs.She was truly a gifted nurse and looked to for advice from her family and friends.

On April 1, 1978, Sandy married Richard Kliber and lived her life in Little Falls. She had three children who she loved immensely. Sandy was a wonderful mother who cared passionately about her family.She enjoyed cooking, planning family vacations and watching her kids develop into wonderful adults. She anticipated Fall when craft season began and excitedly planned annual crafting events with family and friends.When she wasnt caring for her family, you would find Sandy sewing, reading and gardening. She loved her flowers and could be seen weeding for hours or building interesting flowerbeds across her yard. Probably Sandys greatest passion was for life itself.She enjoyed people and it was not uncommon to hear her laughter in a crowd.She could talk to anyone and laughed easily.As much as she loved to laugh, she never feared sharing a hug or a cry for those in need.

Mitch AlbomSandy will be sadly missed by her husband, Richard; her children, Lisa (Kliber) Skoglund and husband, Nathan, Bradley Kliber and Joel Kliber; her father, Vernon (Penny) Erickson; her brother, Randy (Cindy) Erickson; her sister, Amy (Mike) Kliber; aunts, Lois and Robin Sandberg; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Marlys Kliber, Sandy Kliber, Barb (Kliber) Schertler and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
