She was diagnosed with lung cancer in October 2006. Sally was born to John & Julia Peschl in Browerville, Minnesota on February 11, 1930. Born into a farm family, she was an entrepreneur at an early age selling eggs and milk in town. She met her husband, Les Rowen, when he was visiting a friend in Browerville while on leave from the Army. They were married April 21, 1952, a marriage of 55 years that ended with love, tenderness, and the sorrow of losing a life's best friend. They were not only partners in life, but partners in business, having owned and operated Rowen Accounting Service for 22 years. Sally endured the pain of losing her son, Allen, to pneumonia at 3 months of age and watching her newly remodeled home burn to the ground. She loved spending time with her family. She was passionate about fishing, always ready at a moments notice to go! She created beautiful needlepoint pillows, and refinished many pieces of furniture, not only for herself, but for children and grandchildren. Like her mother, she had a love for nature and songbirds. Sally was not fond of her given name. Her quick wit always provided special words for those who dared to call her Marcella. Sally leaves behind her husband, Les in Little Falls, daughter Colleen (Robert) Terrazas of Missoula, MT, and seven children who reside in Minnesota, Mark (Lea), John, Tom (Lisa), Denise, Bruce (Toni), Robert, and Julie (Curt) Sievert, her sole surviving sibling Noreen Gessell of Swanville, Minnesota, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sally also supported to adulthood two children through the Christian Children's Fund. Unity Family Hospice of Morrison County Minnesota provided end of life care and support for which her family is very grateful. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer a memorial in Sally's name to Hospice of Morrison County. Pallbearers will be Sally's grandchildren.
