Ruth Theis

Ruth Theis, age 79, of Sartell, MN, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Country Manor in Sartell.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, with Chaplain Gregg Valentine officiating.A Private burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 20th at Emblom Brenny Funeral Servie in Little Falls, MN.

Ruth Una Akenson was born on April 9, 1934 in Stanfold Township, Barron County, Rice Lake, Wisconsin the daughter of Theman & Merlyn (White) Akenson.She graduated from Barron High School in Barron, Wisconsin, Class of 1952.On October 25, 1954, Ruth was united in marriage to Reinhard Reine Theis at Corpus Christi Church in St. Paul, MN.The couple made their home in the Twin Cities where Ruth worked at Kickerknick, Strutwear and Sears all in Minneapolis.Ruth enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jenene Mary (Greg) Schaubhut of Royalton, MN, Tim John (Mary) Theis of Sauk Rapids, MN, Jerry Reinhard (Patty) Theis of Pierz, MN, Paul Andrew (Suzanne) Theis of Gaylesville, AL, Joan Lynn Kerfeld of Sartell, MN; grandchildren, Jayne Schaubhut, Jennifer (James) Johanix, Geoffrey Schaubhut, Janeille Schaubhut, Steve Theis, Jenna Theis, Matthew Theis, Kara Tabatt, Bret Lucas, Heidi (Brandon) Kahlhamer, Gayle Theis, Sonya Theis, Nathan Theis, Keshia Bertram, Kassi Jo Wyatt , Katie Blackwell, Corbin Kerfeld; great-grandchildren, Lashia Bertram, Zayvier Lucas-Richie, Destiny Lucas-Richie, Tess Lucas, Brittany Walz, Gabriel (Gabby) Lucas; siblings, Herbert (Dottie) Akenson of Rice Lake, WI and Harvey Akenson of Columbia Heights, MN.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Theman & Merlyn (White) Akenson; husband Reinhard Reine Theis (July 22, 2010); brothers, Leo, Jim, Ralph, Les, Lyle and Glenn Akenson and sisters, Harriet Keljik, Ardy Burns, and Arlene Konieczny.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred and will be divided among Ruths favorite charities.
