Ruth Peterson

Ruth L. Peterson, 83 year old resident of St. Paul, MN died March 9, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Grave side service will be held Saturday, August 23 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Adalbert's Catholic Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. with Father Mark Innocenti officiating. Friends may gather at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at the cemetery. Ruth L. Peterson was born November 1, 1924 in Staples, MN to the late Fred and Mae (Hall) Pietz. She grew up in the Staples area and graduated from Staples High School. She was united in marriage to Joseph Peterson in 1950 in Little Falls, MN. The couple made their home in St. Paul, MN. Ruth was active in St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Paul Park, MN and was a member of the prayer group. Ruth enjoyed fishing, traveling, the Grand Old Opry and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her sons, Daniel Peterson and wife, Linda, of St. Paul Park, MN, Gary Schmidt and wife, Arlene, of Pillager, MN; daughter, Karen Schmidt of Rochester, MN; life partner, Leroy Benson; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Peterson; parents, Fred and Mae (Hall) Pietz. Arrangements are with the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, Inc. 1-320-632-4393.
