Ronald Fyten, 71 year old resident of Pierz, MN, died Friday, January 3 at the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 7 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, MN, with Father Kenneth Popp officiating.The burial will be held at a later date.A visitation will be held on Monday, January 6 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN and from 9:00-10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, January 7 at the funeral home.The Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by the parish prayers at 7:00 P.M. on Monday evening. The Military Rites will be conducted by the Pierz American Legion Post #341.

Ronald Ron Fyten was born May 29, 1942 to the late Walter and Julia (Kuper) Fyten in Osseo, MN. He graduated from Father Pierz Memorial High School with the class of 1960. Ronald enlisted in the United States Air Force on November 10, 1960 and served as a machinist during his time in the military.He was honorably discharged on November 9, 1964.He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Betty Altenhofen on April 23, 1971 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, MN.The couple made their home in Pierz, MN.Ronald worked various carreers through out his life. He worked for Luberts Parts in Little Falls, MN and Napa Parts Store in Pierz, MN for several years.Ron and Eddie Gangl owned a used vehicle and snowmobile business and one of the first Subaru dealerships in Minnesota in the 1970s.Ron owned and operated Ace Alternator and Repair in Pierz, MN. He was an avid gardener and would sell his produce at the local farmers markets. Ron had a passion for reading history and sci-fi books. He was a writer authoring four books, Conquest and Defeat, Princess Restored, Revolt of the Nons and Henry Cobble and the Prison of Gold.Ron was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, MN and the Pierz American Legion Post #341.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth Betty Fyten of Pierz, MN; children, Gwen (Arno) Marshall of Pierz, MN, Rhonda (Tim) Lombard ofFarmington, MN and Daniel (Katie) Fyten of Sauk Rapids, MN; siblings, Wally(Karen) Fyten of Pierz, MN; Mark (Stephanie) Fyten of Pierz, MN, Dennis (Sherry) Fyten of Anoka, MN, Paul (Marilyn) Fyten of Fridley, MN, Philip (Mona) Fyten of Cape Coral, FL, Elizabeth Krahl of Florissont, MO, Monica Dawson of Savage, MN and Steven (Michelle) Fyten of Ramsey, MN; 6 grandchildren, Hannah Fyten, Kenzie Lombard, Morgan Lombard, Cole Lombard, AJ Marshall and Eliza Marshall and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Julia Fyten; and a brother, Jerry Fyten.
