Roderick Meyer

Roderick Meyer, 73 year old resident of Blaine, MN died Thursday, December 12 at his home in Blaine. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ritas Catholic Church in Hillman, MN. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30-11:00 A.M. at the church.

Roderick James Meyer was born on July 6, 1946 in Little Falls, MN to the late John and Magdalena (Seelen) Meyer. He attended grade school in Hillman. Roderick graduated from Onamia High School. After high school Roderick moved to Minneapolis where he worked various jobs. In, 1988 he began working for Klesk Metal Stamping in Minneapolis for 27 years. Roderick was united in marriage to Debra Hamling in Anoka, MN on April 29, 1995. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, playing cards, cribbage and watching Minnesota sports teams. Roderick treasured his time spent with family at Platte Lake. He was the Meyer marble tournament champion at Platte Lake on the fourth of July for the last three years. The family remembers special vacation to Branson, MO, Disney World, Orlando, FL and Las Vegas the only thingRoderick would drive since he did not like to fly. He will be remembered for his Masters degree in B.S.ing.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debra Meyer of Blaine; children, Michelle (Tim McKane) Moats of Deer Creek, Jeff (Lorrie) Hansen of Blaine, Michael (Shaylee) Hansen of Dennison; siblings, Jerome Meyer of Coon Rapids, Florence (Eugene) Smykalski of Delano, Matthew (Dolores) Meyer of Coon Rapids, Gary (JoAnn) Meyer of Coon Rapids; grandchildren, Bobbie Hansen, Matthew Moats, Breanna Patterson, Brandon Moats, Blake Patterson, Skyler Hansen, Starr Hansen and Keegan Hansen; seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Magdalena Meyer; brothers, George Meyer, James Meyer; sister, Lucy Pomplun and a granddaughter, Avery Hansen.
