Robert Young

Robert "Bob" Young, age 46, of Bowlus, MN, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Bowlus Community Center in Bowlus, MN. Robert "Bob" William Young was born on September 23, 1965 in St. Cloud, MN, the son of Dale & Catherine (Forsman) Young. He grew up on a farm south of Holdingford. He attended school in Holdingford graduating from Holdingford High School in 1984. Following his school, he worked in auto body repair and owned his own shop in Sauk Rapids. During this time he also raced cars on dirt tracks around central Minnesota. He then went into construction and was self employed as a contractor. He was well known for his honesty and quality work. He married Julie Dierkhising on December 10, 2010. The couple lived their entire married life in Bowlus. Bob was president of the Two River Snowmobile Club, enjoyed racing, four wheeling and spending time outdoors and was a #1 uncle. He was a very giving and unselfish person to his family and friends. There was really nothing he couldn't do. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Julie of Bowlus; father, Dale Young of Sauk Rapids; siblings, Brian (Eileen) Young of Bowlus, William (Jody) Young of Owatonna, Laurie Schwegman of Elk River, Scott Young, of Valley City, ND; special nephew, Hunter of Bowlus and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Young (1991); niece, Raquelle "Rocky" Young (1993); and grandparents.
