Robert Tretter

Robert "Bob" Tretter, 64 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Tuesday, February 28 at his home in rural Little Falls, MN surrounded by his wife and family following a long battle with colon cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 5 at 11:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN with Father Tim Wenzel officiating. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Friends may gather from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Robert "Bob" Tretter was born in May, 1947 in Little Falls, Minnesota to the late Pete and Viola (Tschida) Tretter. He attended Upsala Community Schools graduating in the spring of 1965. He enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard on February 12, 1966 and was honorably discharged on May 25, 2007. Bob was a Chief Warrant Officer at the time of his retirement. Bob was married to Luanne Liebsch on September 21, 1968 and they had three sons and one daughter. They later divorced. Bob was united in marriage to Brenda L. Head on October 6, 1989 in Little Falls where he gained step-daughter and the couple had a daughter together. The couple made their home in Little Falls. During his time in the military, Bob worked in New Ulm, MN, from 1970 - 1972 as a Shop Chief, in Austin, MN, from 1973 - 1984 as an OMS Chief and at Camp Ripley north of Little Falls as a Shop Foreman from 1984 - 2007 when he retired. Bob's hobbies and interest included snowmobiling in the Black Hills, golfing, four-wheeling, playing cards, music, watching sports, deer hunting, working on cars and small engines, spending time in his garage sharing a beverage with his family and friends. He was a member of American Legion, Northern American Hunting Club, and the Elks in Austin, MN. Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Brenda of Little Falls; sons, Robert (Karla) Tretter, Jr. of Brooklyn Park, MN, Scott (Jessica) Tretter of Minneapolis, MN and Troy (Rebecca) Tretter of Maple Grove, MN; daughters, Lindsey Tretter of St. Cloud, MN, and Melanie Pierzinski of Little Falls, MN; brother, Randy (Jane) Tretter of Burtrum, MN; sisters, Janice Burggraff of Clear Lake, MN and Brenda (Steve) Lange of St. Joseph, MN; four grandchildren, Christina Tretter, Jenna Tretter, Hunter Adamski and Hayden Tretter and one on the way. Bob was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Stacy Lynne; parents, Peter & Viola Tretter; niece, Sara Burggraff; nephew, Jason Burggraff and brother-in-law, Tom Burggraff.
