Robert T. Brown

Robert T. Brown, age 94, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on August 16, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic in Little Falls, MN with Fr. Nicholas Landsberger officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. There will be a Daughter of Isabella Rosary at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home followed by Parish Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m., Healing Lights Prayer Group at 6:30 pm. and Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Robert Theodore Brown was born on June 4, 1918 in State Center, Iowa the son of Harry & Grace (Inglis) Brown. He graduated from State Center High School in 1935. Following his schooling, he worked for a while on a farm, as a waiter and for the Civilian Conservation Corps. In 1942, he attended one year of college at the University of Minnesota for the Signal Corp. in electronics. He was united in marriage to Virginia C. Benson on October 16, 1943 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala, Nebraska. From 1944 to 1951 he worked as a car salesman. Robert then began his electronics career with Goodall Electric Manufacturing Company in Ogallala, Nebraska where he worked until 1955. He then moved to La Caada, California and worked for San Fernando Electric Manufacturing Company until 1965 and then moved to Tucson, Arizona and worked for West Cap Arizona until his retirement in 1980. Robert enjoyed golfing until age 91, reading, watching sports, fishing, duck and deer hunting and volunteering. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered, Knights of Columbus #1804, Healing Light Prayer Group, Crosier Apostolate, Little Falls Senior Golf League and was a past member of the Elks (BPOE) and Moose Lodge. He also volunteered from 1984 to 2009 at St. Otto's Care Center, St. Francis Convent and the Clothes Review in Little Falls. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Virginia of Little Falls; children, Robert E. Brown of Ely, NV, James D. Brown of Tucson, AZ, and Mary E. (Ron) McKinnon of Paradise, CA; five grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Harry E. & Grace L. (Inglis) Brown; grandson, Joshua R. Hackitt-Brown; granddaughter, Catherine R. Brown and siblings, Carl Brown, Eugene Brown, Frances Billman and Doris Banks.
