Robert "Bob" Nelson, age 66, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN with visitation from 9 - 11 a.m. A private burial will be held at a later date. Robert "Bob" Michael Nelson was born on March 2, 1946 in Little Falls, MN, the son of Clarence & Laura Mae (LeBlanc) Nelson. He was a Little Falls High School Graduate in 1964. Following his schooling, he went to work at Schaffer's Red Owl in Little Falls as a meat cutter. He then enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard and served from April, 1965 to April, 1971 and August, 1972 to March, 1977. He was united in marriage to Maureen Sanders on September 8, 1990 at their home in Belle Prairie Township. Bob was self employed in auto sales (buying and selling used automobiles) and auto body repair working out of his shop at their home for 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking, walleye fishing in Orr, elk hunting trips in Colorado, deer hunting trips in Montana, farming, gun collecting, shooting sporting clays, spending time at his cabin up north and especially enjoyed being a grandpa. Ever since he was a teenager, he has been the proud owner of a corvette. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, American Bear Association and the National Wildlife Turkey Foundation. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Maureen Nelson of Little Falls, MN; daughter, Nichole (Steve) Harren of Royalton, MN; step-children, Keith (Rhonda) Blomberg of Leesville, LA and Klaudia Sanders of Verndale, MN; grandchildren, Heather (Josh) Flagout, Stephanie Blomberg, Bruno Simic, Emily Gaffke, Kayla Gaffke and Amelia Blomberg; great-grandson, Gavin Flagout; mother-in-law, Dorothy Sanders of Little Falls; brother-in-law, Jack Novotny of Little Falls, MN; niece, Karel (Greg) Fleck of Rice, MN; nephew, Tom Novotny of Ft. Ripley, MN; four great-nephews and two great-nieces. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn Novotny.
