Robert Bob Sowada, 69 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Tuesday, July 1 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 5 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Joseph Herzing officiating. The burial will be held private at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 4 and from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Saturday, July 5 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. Parish Prayers will be said at 5:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
The military rites will be conducted by the Little Falls American Legion Post #46 and the Little Falls VFW Post #1112.


Robert Bob Sowada was born on December 27, 1944 in Little Falls, MN to the late George and Martha (Mrosla) Sowada. The family made their home in North Prairie, MN. Robert attended school in Royalton, MN and graduated with the class of 1962.He enlisted into the United States Army on September 29, 1962 and was honorably discharged on September 28, 1965.Bob served as a radio operator over seas. He was united in marriage to Patricia Kaiser on January 21, 1967 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. MN. He returned home and attended St. Paul Area Technical Institute and received his diploma in June of 1970.Bob worked as a field service technician for the Xerox Company for 31 years. After retiring from Xerox, he worked for Palmer Bus Company in Little Falls, MN, for two years.Bob enjoyed entertaining family and friends. They enjoyed spending their summers at the Care Free Country Club in Big Lake, MN, where he was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award.Bob and Pat enjoyed traveling together, taking many vacations throughout the United States, Mexico and Jamaica. The couple also enjoyed snowmobiling and motorcycling.Bob was an avid fast pitch softball player, bowler, golfer and enjoyed fishing with his family. He was very patriotic and was an active member of the Little Falls American Legion Post #46 and the Little Falls VFW Post #1112.Bob and Pat were members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia Sowada of Little Falls, MN; children, Jennifer (Tracy) Tschida of Albertville, MN and Jeff Sowada of Little Falls, MN; siblings, Duane (Alice) Sowada of Little Falls, MN, George (Gen) Sowada of Roseville, MN; grandchildren, Jacob Tschida, Emily Tschida, Garyt Sowada and Jordyn Waldoch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha (Mrosla) Sowada and siblings, James and Edward Sowada.
