Rita T. Blaine

Rita T. Blaine, 82 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at her residence.

Latin Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, with Father Nino Molina officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service with a prayer service at 5:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday. All visitation times will be held at the funeral home.

Rita was born on September 16, 1933 to Andrew and Elizabeth Super in Little Falls, MN. She graduated from St. Francis High School. Rita was united in marriage to William Paul Blaine on June 13, 1953 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. The couple raised their children and resided in Little Falls. Rita worked at the Little Falls Medical Center, Thrifty Drug, St. Francis Convent, Blaine Printing, and Blaine Picture Frames. She enjoyed artistic painting, candle making, wood working, needle work, and making hand-made cards. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church for 50 years, and also the St. Gabriels Hospital Auxiliary.

Rita had an incredibly creative spirit. In spite of her physical disabilities, she focused her energy to create and share her talents through many artistic avenues. Ritas gift of hospitality touched so many lives, especially the women who cared for her following her husbands death.

Rita is survived by her daughters, Mary (Brian) Beech, Julie (Tom) Herzog, Therese (Rob Sauer) Blaine, Christine (Rick Stapleton) Blaine; sister, Sr. Dolores Super OSB; 9 grandsons; and 3 great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and 9 siblings.

Memorials preferred to Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls or CHI St. Gabriels Hospice.
