Rita Paulsen

Rita J. Paulsen, 90 year old resident of Pierz, MN, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Harmony House in Pierz, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November19 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN, with Rev. Ken Popp officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 18 and 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. on Monday, November 19 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz. There will be a Christian Mother's Rosary at 4:00 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 5:00 P.M. Rita Josephine Poser was born on April 3, 1922, in Agram Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the daughter of Lawrence & Mary (Loidolt) Poser. She attended St. Joseph's School in Pierz. On September 4, 1948, she was united in marriage to Raymond J. "Ray" Paulsen. The couple made their home on a farm in Buh Township. Following Ray's death in 1987, Rita moved to Pierz. Rita worked at Munsingwear in Little Falls, MN and The Rosie Riveter in Spokane, WA. Her hobbies included embroidering, quilting, gardening, reading, traveling, playing cards and playing bingo. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, the Christian Mothers and the Pierz American Legion Auxiliary. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Roger Paulsen of Little Falls, MN, Lorna (Robert) Marvin of East Bethel, MN, Jolene (John) Gross of Andover, MN, and Raymond (Carrie) Paulsen, Jr. of Lastrup, MN; four grandchildren, Jeana Marvin, Joe Marvin, John Paulsen and Sara Paulsen; and sister, Angeline Poser of Pierz, MN. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond J. Paulsen, Sr. (April 14, 1987); son, Richard Paulsen and siblings, Leo, Edward, Phillip, Clem, Victor Poser, Ida Graves and Stella Rauch.
