Richard "Dick" Millner 64 year old resident of Pierz, MN died Wednesday, February 3 at his home in Pierz, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 9 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be held Thursday, February 11 at 11:00 AM at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 PM on Monday, February 8 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN and from 9:00-10:00 AM on Tuesday at the church. Christian Mothers will pray the Rosary at 4:30 PM followed by Parish Prayers at 6:30 PM and Knights of Columbus Office of The Dead at 7:30 PM on Monday evening at the church. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillman American Legion Post # 602 Richard "Dick" Millner was born May 24, 1945 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Richard and Cecilia (Marshik) Millner. Richard attended school in the Pierz area graduating in 1963 from Pierz Memorial School. He enlisted in the United States Army on November 10, 1965 and was honorably discharged on October 19, 1967. He was united in marriage to Kate Schlichting on January 18, 1969 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. The couple made their home in Pierz, MN. Dick was co-owner of Oak Grove Dairy Home Delivery. He also farmed in Pierz Township. He retired from farming and worked at worked at Stearns Manufacturing in Sauk Rapids, MN. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, gardening, experimenting with his grapevines and helping his brother with his winery. His greatest enjoyment was his time spent with his grandchildren and family. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Knight's of Columbus and the Hillman American Legion Post # 602 Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kate Millner of Pierz, MN; children, Steve Millner and wife, Sharon, of Pierz, MN, Stacey Loftis and husband, Pete, of Pillager, MN, Trisha Welker and husband, Robert, of Gainesville, GA, Tom Millner and wife, Krissy, of Pierz, MN, Matt Millner and fiance, Melissa, of Pine Center, MN; mother, Cecilia Millner of Little Falls, MN; special sister-in-laws, Julie Lanners and husband, Roger, of Royalton, MN, Karla Leonhardt and husband, Bob, of Crosby, MN; sisters, Carol Sullivan and husband, Brian, of Ramsey, MN,brother, Don Millner and wife, Mary, of Paynesville, MN; Laurie Menke and husband, Mike, of Woodbury, MN; grandchildren, Jourdan Loftis, Jessica Loftis, Ashley Millner, Cody Lemke, Tyler Millner, Maddie Millner, Hailey Storkamp, Mitchell Welker, Grayson Welker, Destin Welker.
