Richard Golombiecki, 81 year old resident of Flensburg, MN, died Saturday, July 6 at St. Gabriels Hospital in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 9 at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating.Burial will be in the parish cemetery.Friends may gather from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:00 A. M. until the hour of the service on Tuesday at the church. A rosary will be said at 4:30 P.M. followed by parish prayers at 5:00 P.M. and the knights of columbus office of the dead at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home Monday evening.
Richard Golombiecki was born September 9, 1931 in Flensburg, Minnesota to the late Peter and Sophie (Peschel) Golombiecki. He grew up in Flensburg, MN, where he attended grade school. Richard enlisted into the United States Army and served his country for two years. Richard purchased his farm at the age of 21, in Swan River Township, Morrison County, where he resided until the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Agnes Bartkowitz on February 9, 1959 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN. The couple made their home and farmed in Swan River Township for 54 years. He enjoyed moose hunting, elk hunting, salmon fishing in the state of Washington, raising calves on the familys farm and raising white tail deer for 19 years.He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN, Knights of Columbus. The Flensburg American Legion Club Post #136. The Flensburg Fire Department for 40 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Agnes Golombiecki of Little Falls, MN; children, John (Michelle) Golombiecki of Little Falls, MN, Jeff (Stacie) Golombiecki of Bigelow, MN, Jeanne (Scott) Bartkowicz of Swanville, MN and Jackie (Wayne) Kroll of Little Falls, MN; siblings, Jerry (Edna) Golombiecki of Little Falls, MN and Leona Kedrowski of Waseca, MN; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Sophie Golombiecki; siblings, Ray, Peter and Joe Golombiecki, Rosie Kedrowski, Pauline Koval and an infant sister.
