Reinhart Reinie Brausen, 95 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Tuesday, February 3 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Little Falls, MN.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 7 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Fr. Joseph Herzing. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 6 from 4:30-7:30 P.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday, February 7 at St. St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. A parish prayer will be said at 5:00 PM on Friday evening at the funeral home. The burial will be held in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Little Fall. The military rites will be conducted by the Little Falls VFW Post #1112.

Reinhart Reinie Henry Brausen was born December 17, 1919 in Little Falls, MN to the late Peter and Elizabeth (Roos) Brausen.He attended school in Little Falls through the eighth grade.Reinie was drafted into the United States Army on October 21, 1941 at Ft. Snelling, Minnesota. He served his country during World War II in North Africa and Europe. Reinhart was wounded in North Africa and was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantry Badge, American Defense Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.He was honorably discharged on September 22, 1945 at Camp Crowder, Missouri and returned to Little Falls, MN.Reinhart was united in marriage to Lavern Sahr on October 26, 1946 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. The couple made their home in Little Falls. Reinhart worked at Camp Ripley for 37 years in the wood shop and range departments. Reinhart helped construct the granite wall along Camp Ripley, while working for the WPA (Works Project Administration).Reinie also constructed the wood dash on the Charles Lindbergh automobile at the Lindbergh Museum. He retired on January 2, 1985.He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and was a life member of the Little Falls VFW Post #1112. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, watching westerns, playing cards, gardening, fried chicken, drinking beer with tomatoe juice and watching the Minnesota Twins.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dennis R. (Mary) Brausen, Daniel J. (Renae) Brausen, Rick P. (Sue) Brausen, James N. (Laurie) Brausen, Dianna M. (Raymond) Schulte and Jan V. (Terry) Verley, all of Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Christopher (Tammy) Schulte, Brent (Julie) Schulte, Tammy (Aron) Dalen, Corey Verley, Derrick (Tricia) Brausen, Kelly (Carie) Verley, Mandy Brausen, Becky Brausen, Jeremy Brausen, Steven (Stacy) Brausen and Samantha (Jeremy) Petersen: 15 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Chad (Jessica) Hammerschmidt and Kayci Hammerschmidt; five step-great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-great-grandson; siblings, Leona Funk of Genola, MN and Lorraine (Earl) Aaron of Little Falls, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Elizabeth Brausen; wife, Lavern Brausen on March 14, 1994; siblings, Joseph Brausen, Lawrence Brausen, Raymond Brausen, Ervin Brausen, Laura Brausen, Clarence Brausen, Leo Brausen, Florence Sahr, Mathilda Lampert and an infant brother.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Unity Family Home Care and Hospice.
