Reinhard Theis

Reinhard Theis, 77 year old resident of Sauk Rapids, MN formerly of the Buckman, MN area died Thursday, July 22 at the St. Cloud VA Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 26 at 4:00 P.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN with Rev. Dick McGuire officiating. Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Reinhard Theis was born August 29, 1932 in Buckman Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late John A. and Loretta M. (Broschofsky) Theis. He attended school in District #56 country school. He enlisted in the United States Army on August 17, 1954 and was honorably discharged on July 30, 1956. Reinhard was stationed in Kaiserslautern Germany during his military duty. He was united in marriage to Ruth U. Akenson on October 25, 1954 at Corpus Christi Church in St. Paul, MN. Ruth resided in the Twin Cities while Reinhard finished his military duty. After he completed his military career, the couple lived in the Twin Cities area. He worked at Williams Hardware in Minneapolis, MN. In 1957, the couple moved to a dairy farm near Buckman, MN. Reinhard also operated Reine's Repair and was a school bus driver for the Royalton School District. In 1981, he operated a Jack Frost chicken barn near Morrill, MN. Reine also worked at Sunrise Ag in Little Rock, MN. In 2006, the couple moved into the Good Shepherd Apartments in Sauk Rapids, MN. Reinhard loved fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. He was a member of St. Michael's Society in Buckman, MN and served on the Mount Lake, Morrill and Buckman first response team for 10 years. Left to cherish his memory are his spouse, Ruth Theis; children, Jenene Mary (Greg) Schaubhut of Royalton, MN, Tim John (Mary) Theis of Sauk Rapids, MN, Jerry Reinhard (Patty) Theis of Pierz, MN, Paul Andrew (Suzanne) Theis of Gaylesville, AL, Joan Lynn Kerfeld of Sartell, MN; grandchildren, Jayne Schaubhut, Jennifer Schaubhut, Geoffrey Schaubhut, Janeille Schaubhut, Steve Theis, Jenna Theis, Matthew Theis, Kara Tabatt, Bret Lucas, Heidi Theis, Gayle Theis, Sonya Theis, Nathan Theis, Keshia Bertram, Kassi Jo Theis, Katie Blackwell, Corbin Kerfeld; great-grandchildren, Lashia Bertram, Zayvier Richie-Tabatt, Destany Richie-Tabatt, Tess Lucas, Brittany Walz, Gabriel (Gabby) Lucas; sisters, Sr. Eileen Theis, O.S.F. of Little Falls, MN, Helen (Willard) Hoheisel of New Prague, MN, Cecilia Meyer of Buffalo, MN, Marian Bleichner of Sauk Rapids, MN, Judy (Bill) Glafke of Eagle River, AK; brothers, Al (Irene) Theis of Hastings, MN, Rod (Bunny) Theis of Helix, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie; brothers, Donald, Ray, Larry and Bernard.
