Regina Yorek

Regina Yorek, age 92, of Sobieski, MN, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008, at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm Friday, Feb. 29th and Saturday one hour prior to the service all at the church in Sobieski. There will be a rosary at 4:30 followed by parish prayers at 6:00 P.M. Friday at the church Regina Frances Rossa was born on October 6, 1915 in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Anton & Bridget (Casey) Rossa. She attended country school in Swan River Township. Regina moved to St. Paul, MN, where she worked as a housekeeper and also worked at a golf course. She was united in marriage to Raymond Yorek on September 2, 1940 at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale. The couple made their home on a farm in Swan River Township. Regina was a homemaker all her married life and helped Raymond with the farming operation. Following Raymond's death in January, 1975, Regina continued living on the farm until her death. Regina was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski and the Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed reading, playing Rummy, sewing, cooking, baking, playing piano, gardening, raising chickens, and especially praying the rosary. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Margaret (John) Copa, of Little Falls, Judi (Jim) Strempke of Little Falls, Jerry (Paulette) Yorek, of Little Falls, Dollie (Gary) Boser of St. Cloud, Frank (Nancy) Yorek of Little Falls and Bob (Bridget) Yorek of Little Falls; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; son, James; sister, Catherine Yasgar and two infant brothers and an infant sister. Casket bearers are Shannon Krueger, Jason Yorek, Mike Copa, Matthew Yorek, Amy Boser, Job Yorek.
