Raymond Alphonse Burggraff

Raymond A. Burggraff, 81 year old resident of Royalton, MN died Monday evening at his home in Royalton, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 12 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN with Father Laurn Virnig officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and from 9:00-10:00 A.M. on Friday at the church. A Rosary will be said at 4:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the church. Raymond A. Burggraff was born December 3, 1930 to the late Edward Sr. and Theresa (Jansky) Burggraff. He was united in marriage to Bernadine Kalis on August 31, 1953 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN. The couple made their home on the Burggraff family farm where, Raymond farmed until he retired in 2008. In 2008, Raymond moved into Royalton, MN, where he resided until his death. He also drove milk truck for 7 years for the Royalton Creamery. Raymond enjoyed squirrel hunting, shaking dice, playing cards, polka and waltz music and dancing. He treasured his time spent with family and friends. He was a director of the Royalton Cooperative Shipping Association for 18 years. Raymond was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered by his children as a kind, loving, and caring man. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Roger (Patty) Burggraff of Royalton, MN, Shirley (Dan) Schreifels of Waite Park, MN, Don (Carrie) Burggraff of Sartell, MN, Jeanne (Rick) Mehrwerth of Sauk Rapids, MN; siblings, Edward (Alice) Burggraff of Little Falls, MN, Rita Mugg of Sauk Rapids, MN, Alma (Robert) Popp of Rice, MN, Elaine (Benno) Gall of St. Cloud, MN; son-in-law, Dean Boese of Kimball, MN; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Leona Borg and Theresa Burggraff all of Little Falls, MN; He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Theresa (Jansky) Burggraff; wife, Bernadine on November 21, 1997; daughter, Karen Boese on August 7, 2012; an infant son; siblings, Lorraine Schlichting, Ralph Burggraff, Arnold Burggraff and Ernest Burggraff.
