Ralph Arthur Blair

Ralph A. Blair, 84 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Monday, December 28 at his residence in Little Falls with his family by his side.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 31 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls with Father Joseph Herzing officiating.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

The burial will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 31 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.



Ralph Arthur Blair was born on February 15, 1931 in Kimball, MN to the late Arthur and Amelia (Adolph) Blair. He attended school in Kimball, MN graduating with the class of 1950. He entered the United States Navy on September 28, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN. He honorably served his country until his discharge on August 22, 1955 in San Francisco, CA. Ralph received the China Service, United Nations, Korean Service and National Defense commendations during his military enlistment. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Bredeck on April 27, 1955, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. The couple made their home in San Diego, CA, where Ralph was stationed in the Navy. The couple moved to Minneapolis following Ralphs service, then to Kimball, Rockford and finally, settling in Little Falls in 1971. He owned and operated a car wash and local taxi service in Little Falls. Ralph then went to work for Columbia Gear in Avon, MN until his retirement in 1996. Ralph enjoyedDo It Yourself Projects, automotive restoration and home remodeling. He spent many hours camping, watching football, traveling, gardening, flower gardens and tinkering outside. Ralph treasured his time spent with his grandchildren. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Little Falls VFW Post #1112.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Judy (Tim) Jones of St. Cloud, Denise (Michael) Schnettler of Foley, Diane Blair of St. Cloud, Alan (Cindy) Blair of Albuquerque, NM, Cathy (Ronald) Mehr of Paynesville, Michael (Erin) Blair of Little Falls; siblings, Melvin Blair of Kimball, MN and Lester (Millie) Blair of Otsego, MN; nine grandchildren, Cody (Bethany), Courtney, Nathan, Grace, Devin, Emily, Joey, Ellie, Tommy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Amelia Blair; wife, Dorothy Blair; brothers, Dale Blair and Orville Blair and a sister,Verda Prehoda.
