Mrs. LaVern Masog

LaVern Masog, age 97, of Little Falls, MN, passed away July 3, 2012 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall, MN, with Fr. Jimmy Joseph officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service. LaVern was born on October 7, 1914 in Little Falls, MN, to the late Simon and Katie (Cichon) Zeck. She was united in marriage to Frank Masog on June 30, 1936 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. They operated the Masog Clothing Store in the west side of Little Falls until they moved to Pike Creek Township where they farmed and raised their family. Following their retirement, they moved to Green Prairie Fish Lake. LaVern enjoyed gardening, canning, playing cards with family and friends and attending church. Her family will remember and cherish her knowing look in her eyes and her smile that lasted for 97 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Loren Masog of Rhode Island, Gary Masog of Anchorage, AK and Robert Masog of Little Falls and other relatives and friends. LaVern was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Masog; brother, Jack and two sisters, Gertrude and Mayme.
