Monica Huver

Monica A. Huver, age 86 of Pierz, MN passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at her home in Granite Township, Morrison County, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman with Father Greg Poser officiating. Interment will be in St. Rita's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz and Saturday from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman. Christian Mothers will pray a rosary Friday at 4:30 P.M. at the funeral chapel followed by parish prayers at 7:00 P.M. Monica Ann Huver was born April 7, 1921 in Buh Township, Morrison County, MN to the late John L. and Mary (Preimesberger) Boser. She grew up in the Pierz area and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School in Pierz through the eighth grade. Following her schooling, Monica moved to St. Paul, MN where she worked as a housekeeper. She was united in marriage to Phillip Huver on May 16, 1939 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz. Following their marriage, Monica & Phillip farmed east of Pierz. Monica worked from 1959-1981 at Crestliner Boats in Little Falls and later with the Green Thumb Program at Pierz Healy High School and the Pierz Nutrition Center. Her husband, Phillip, died on June 17, 1982. Following his death, Monica continued to live on the farm the couple homesteaded in Granite Township, residing there until her death. Monica retired in 1991 at the age of 70 years. She was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman and the Christian Mothers. Monica enjoyed gardening, flowers, feeding the birds, quilting, playing cards and reading. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Monica is survived by her sons & daughters, Linus Huver & wife, Janet, of Alexandria, MN, Jane Rosvold & husband, Arlen, of Brookings, SD, Judy Lattimer of Blaine, MN, Harold Huver & wife, Shirley, of Rice, MN, Mary Ann Underwood & husband, Ed, of Asheboro, NC and Grace Huver of Brainerd, MN; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip; infant daughter, Margaret; parents, John L. & Mary Boser; brothers, Anton, Aloysius, Fred, Tony, Ignatz, Steve, Reinhart & Aloys Boser; sisters, Christine Sontag, Regina Flicker, Gertrude Tomala, Frances Schmidtbauer, Cecelia Sanders & Veronica Todd; son-in-law, Gerald Lattimer; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeanette Menden, Lyla Vogtlin, Marjie Held, Ruth Monson, Rosemary Majka & Rita Barabash. Casketbeaers are her grandchildren, Steve Peterson, Mike Peterson, Mark Huver, Gabe Lattimer, Rodney Johannes, Kurt Huver, Timmy Underwood & Eddie Underwood.
