Mildred Emily (Meier) Boehmer, 97 year old resident of Royalton, MN died Saturday, July 5 at Riverside Assisted Living Center in Royalton, MN.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 11:00 A.M. at the Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church in Rice, MN. with Bob Trinklein officiating.A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Tuesday at the church. The burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Royalton, MN.
Mildred Emily Meier was born October 31, 1916 in Kimball, SD to the late Fred and Anna (Maurer) Meier. She attended a two room school house in Kimball, SD. Mildred was united in marriage to Herman Boehmer on January 8, 1941 in Luverne, MN.She would often reminisce about South Dakota and the Dust Bowl in the 1930s during the depression.The couple made their home near Blue Earth, MN for 10 years. Three of her children were born there, Albert, Barbara and Sandra.In 1955, they moved to Royalton, MN on a farm.In 1962, they moved into Royalton, were she worked at Crestliner in Little Falls, MN for six years.She also worked at the Lutheran Home in Little Falls for one and a half years.Mildred then worked at Fingerhut and Stearns Manufacturing for six years.She retired in 1980 and cared for three foster adults for 10 years.Mildred was a member of the Royalton Senior Citizens, St. Johns Lutheran Church in Dixville and was currently a member of Shepherd of The Pines in Rice, MN.
Left to cherish her memory are her son-in-law, Floyd Werkman and nieces, nephews and her friends at Riverside Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna Meier; husband, Herman Boehmer in 1983; daughters, Barbara Werkman in 1966 and Sandra Hiatt in 1989; son, Albert Boehmer; grandson, Ronald Hiatt in 1989 and siblings, Lillian Biehl and Albert, Herbert and Leonard Meier.
Casket Bearers will be: Gary Loidolt, Milton Popp, Richard Popp, Floyd Werkman, Julie Paschke and Bob Paschke.
