Mike Robert Fussy

Mike Fussy, 93 year old resident of Bowlus, MN, died Saturday, September 28 at St. Ottos Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 2 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN with Father John Odero officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN and from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of the service on Wednesday at the church.The parish prayers will be said at 7:00 P.M. and The Bowlus American Legion Post will provide the military honors and will pray the rosary at 7:30 PM Tuesday evening. The Knights of Columbus will pray the office of the dead at 8:00 P.M.

Mike Robert Fussy was born June 4, 1920 in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Peter and Katherine (Weber) Fussy.He attended country school until the 8th grade. He served in the United States Army for two years. He was united in marriage to Cecilia Prokott on September 25, 1956 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN.The couple made their home in Swan River Township and farmed from 1946 until retiring in 1985.The couple moved to Bowlus, MN, for their retirement years.
Mike enjoyed fishing, playing cards and gardening. Mike was a member of the Sobieski Creamery Board for 21 years. He was a member of the Bowlus American Legion, Little Falls VFW and the Knights of Columbus.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cecilia of Bowlus, MN; children, Leo Fussy of St. Cloud, MN, James Fussy of Little Falls, MN Patrick (Joann) Fussy of Little Falls, MN, Ann (Pat) Maciej of Holdingford, MN, Mary Fussy of St. Cloud, MN, Jeanette (Bruce) Barthel of Burtrum, MN; siblings, Frances (John) Traczyk of New Hope, MN and Agnes (Louis) Doucette of Cushing, MN; grandchildren Chris Fussy, Zachary Maciej, Stacy Fussy, Adam Maciej, Shawn Barthel, Alex Maciej, Tiffany Barthel and Travis Barthel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Katherine Fussy; siblings, Raymond Fussy, Verna Eisele, Elizabeth Sand, Balbina Solarz and Mary Niegorski.
