Michael Scheibel

Michael "Mike" Scheibel, 70 year old resident of Hillman, MN, passed away Sunday, December 23 at his home. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 29 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman, MN with Father Jerry Schik officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday at the church. Michael "Mike" Scheibel was born December 18, 1942 in Saint Cloud, Minnesota to the late Mike and Theresa (Koppy) Scheibel. He grew up in the Ramey, MN area where he attended Foley High School and graduated in 1960. He was united in marriage to Marie "Toots" Klimek on November 5, 1966 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Foreston, MN. They lived in Minneapolis, MN until moving to Hillman, MN in 1972. The couple made their home in Hillman, MN, where they raised the couple's two children, Trisha and Michael. He farmed in Hillman, MN and also worked as a heavy equipment operator for Minnesota Limited Inc. in Rogers, MN, he retired in 2009. He continued his passion of farming after his retirement. He enjoyed tractors, farming and deer hunting. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #49. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marie "Mary" Scheibel of Hillman, MN; children, Trisha (Dean Alexander) of Onamia, MN, Michael Scheibel of Milaca, MN; siblings, Bernette (Everett) Hall of Foley, MN, Joany (Morrie) Morse of Bloomington, MN, John (Deb) Scheibel of Brooklyn Center, MN, Linda (Ronnie) Johnson of Pierz, MN, Muriel (Nick) Miller of Pierz, MN, Gerry (Joe) Caple of Cotton, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Theresa Scheibel; sister, Phyllis Sorem; brother, Larry Scheibel. The family request no flowers please.
