Michael C. Doucette, age 60 of Little Falls, MN passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 1, 2010 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls with Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday and Monday from 8:00-11:00 A.M. at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. Parish Prayers will be said at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral chapel. Military rites will be conducted by Little Falls American Legion Post #46. Michael Clifford Doucette was born July, 14, 1949 in Little Falls, MN to the late Lester & Dorothy (Berggren) Doucette. His family lived in St. Louis Park, MN and Hopkins, MN where he attended St. Joseph's Catholic School. When Michael was 12 years old, his family moved to Flensburg, MN where his parents farmed. Mike attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Flensburg. He then attended Little Falls Schools graduating with the Class of 1967. Following high school, he entered the United States Army on October 30, 1967 and received an honorable discharge on December 6, 1967. He received the National Defense Service Medal. Mike was united in marriage to Susanne (Sue) M. Seelen on August 7, 1970 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls. He worked at Munsingwear in Little Falls for 14 years and five years for Alternative Delivery Systems/Morrison County Record. Mike then worked at Camp Ripley, sold insurance for three years and for the last 26 years worked as a general maintenance worker for the State of Minnesota at Camp Ripley. Mike was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls where he served as an usher, served on the Little Falls City Council for 30 years, 26 of those years as Council President. Mike was on the Personnel & Finance Committee, Public Works Committee, Housing & Redevelopment (HRA) for 25 years, Economic Development Authority (EDA), Community Development of Little Falls/Morrison County, Rural Development Finance Authority, Highway 27 Task Force, Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Little Falls American Legion Post #46, Royalton Sportman Club and the Breezy Shores Resort & Beach Club in Detroit Lakes, MN, where he has served on the Board of Directors for many years. Left to cherish is memory are his wife, Sue; daughter, Cheryl (Michael) Moore of Little Falls, MN; son, Brian (Annette) Doucette of Moorhead, MN; brother, Patrick Doucette of Little Falls, MN; sisters, Lee Ann Doucette of Little Falls, MN, Colleen (Verne) Betlach of Faribault, MN, Linda Jacobson of Little Falls, MN and grandchildren, Tyler & Austin Moore and Konner, Kolton & Jaida Doucette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester & Dorothy Doucette; nephew, Jessie Henry; aunts, uncles and grandparents. The family prefers memorials in lieu of flowers.
