Maynard R. Chakel

Maynard Chakel, age 82, of the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Pierz Villa. A celebration of his life will be held from 2-4 P.M. Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Harmony House in Pierz, MN. Burial will be held at 9:30 A.M. Monday, August 3, 2009 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Maynard Robert Chakel was born September 19, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Joseph and Clara (Olson) Chakel. He enlisted in the United States Army on February 27, 1946 and was honorably discharged on June 17, 1949. Maynard farmed and also worked for Larson and Crestliner Boat Works. He enjoyed farming, reading, sightseeing and walking. Maynard is survived by his special family, Joe and Patty Mallak of Little Falls, MN; friends and staff at the Harmony House in Pierz and special friend, Marilyn Kapsner, of Little Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Clara Chakel.
