Mathilda Lampert

Mathilda "Tillie" M. Lampert, age 91, of Pierz, MN, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN, with Rev. Kenneth Popp officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22nd at the church. Mathilda "Tillie" Mary Brausen was born on May 3, 1921, in Buckman Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the daughter of Peter & Elizabeth (Roos) Brausen. Following her schooling, she helped raise her 12 siblings on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Elmer Lampert on April 6, 1940, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, MN. The couple made their home by Mora, Milaca and in 1972, they moved to Pierz. Along with raising her family, Tillie worked at Olson's Super Value in Milaca and in the kitchen at St. Mary's Villa in Pierz. Tillie enjoyed quilting, embroidery, jig saw puzzles, playing cards, baking and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Rita (Jack) Drabant of Mora, MN and Larry (Dorothy) Lampert of Pierz, MN; seven grandchildren, James, Laura, Michael, Ricky, Angelia, Jennifer and Bradley, two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Elisha; two great-great-grandchildren, Kaydance and Bryson; brother, Reinhart Brausen of Little Falls, MN; sisters, Lorraine (Earl) Aaron of Little Falls, MN, Florence Sahr of Grand Rapids, MN and Leona Funk of Pierz, MN; sister-in-law, Nancy Brausen of Little Falls, MN, and many nieces and nephews. Tillie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Lampert (October 22, 1999); son, Leroy; brothers, Ervin, Leo, Ray, Joseph, Lawrence and Clarence Brausen and sister, Laura Brausen.
