Mary M. Kuchinski, 90 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Rev. Mark Innocenti officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 a" 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 23rd and from 8:00 a" 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 24th at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (West Chapel) in Little Falls. There will be a Christian Mother's Rosary at 4:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral chapel followed by Parish Prayers at 5:30 P.M. Mary Magdalene Backowski was born on February 1, 1917 in Flensburg, Minnesota the daughter of Tony & Bessie (Lepinski) Backowski. She grew up on a farm and attended country school. She was united in marriage to Leo Vincent Kuchinski on October 30, 1934 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg. The couple made their home on the Kuchinski family farm in Pike Creek Township in Morrison County where they raised their family. Mary's primary job was being a housewife and mother to her children. She did work outside the home at the Sanitary Bakery in Little Falls, in housekeeping at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls and cleaned at the Drawbridge Bar. Mary is a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg and currently a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls and the Christian Mothers. Mary enjoyed life, especially spending time with her family. She also enjoyed embroidering, quilting, gardening, traveling, baking, hunting with her boys (she was the camp cook) and listening to her boys' hunting stories. Her family will cherish many memories of her, especially her attention to details. She kept impeccable records and was gifted with a wonderful memory, remembering all the birthdays and anniversaries. Survivors include her children, Mary Lou (Alfred) Sobieck of Rice, Robert (Susan) Kuchinski of Swanville, Don (Kay) Kuchinski of Sauk Rapids, Pat (Bob) Waltman of Little Falls, Carol (Craig) Reaser of Southern Pines, NC, Leo "Joe" (Audrey) Kuchinski of Little Falls, David (Cathy) Kuchinski of Holdingford and Fred Kuchinski of Deer Lodge, MT; siblings, Florian (Mary) Backowski of Anoka, Bernadine (Ken) Dzieweczynski of Garrison; 30 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony & Bessie (Lepinski) Backowski; husband, Leo Kuchinski; son, Gerald Kuchinski; sister, Florence Livgard; brothers, Valentine & Anthony Backowski; grandson, Mark Sobieck and great-granddaughter, Shelby Waltman. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Smith, Nathan Sobieck, Brett Sobieck, Sam Sobieck, Drew Kuchinski, Patrick Oehmke, Joey Oehmke and Brycon Theel. Casketbearers will be Michael Sobieck, Darrell Sobieck, Tim Kuchinski, Tom Kuchinski, Danny Kuchinski, Michael Waltman, Patrick Waltman and Jesse Kuchinski.
