Mary L. Hietala, age 69 of Little Falls, MN, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN with Father Mark Innocenti officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral chapel. Mary Louise (Adelmann) Hietala was born November 20, 1942, in Robbinsdale, MN to the late Arthur and Corinne (Richard) Adelmann. She grew up in Robbinsdale, MN. Mary attended school at The Villa Maria Academy in Frontenac, MN and graduated from St. Michael's High School in St. Michael, MN. Following high school, Mary attended the Minneapolis School of Business in Minneapolis. She then worked as a medical secretary. She was united in marriage to Glenn H. Hietala on January 23, 1965 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Robbinsdale, MN. The couple lived in Bloomington for fourty years. Mary was a homemaker and later worked as a legal secretary for 9 years. She also owned and operated her own desk top publishing business for 12 years. She then worked at Douglas Claims Service in Edina, MN for approximately four years before her retirement. Following her retirement, Mary & Glenn moved to Little Falls, where she resided until her death. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN. Mary enjoyed gardening, embroidering sweatshirts and towels, baking, cooking, sewing, traveling, reading, shopping, and pontoon rides on the Mississippi River. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Glenn; daughters, Linda Jean (Eric) Hansen of Andover, MN & Jennifer Lynn (Shane) Swenson of Crystal, MN; grandchildren, Noah Hansen, Eliana Hansen, Aidan Hansen, Jakob Swenson and Brady Swenson; brother, Robert J. (Judy Lampe) Adelmann of Bluffton, SC and a sister, Juliann (Gary) L'Herault of Plymouth, MN. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Corinne Adelmann and brothers, Richard & Edward Adelmann. In lieu of flowers family prefers memorials to the Little Falls Boys & Girls Club.
