Mary LaPorte

Mary LaPorte, age 61, of Brainerd, MN, died Saturday, August 29, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating.

Private interment will be in St. Marys Cemetery in Little Falls.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Mary Elizabeth Zilka was born on January 7, 1954, in Little Falls, Minnesota the daughter of Thomas Clara (Zasmeta) Zilka. She grew up in Little Falls where she attended school graduating with the Class of 1972. She was blessed with two sons and two daughters. As a military wife, Mary lived in many different places in the United States and returned to Minnesota in 1998. Mary enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, singing, fishing, and playing games on the computer. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Brainerd, MN.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lori (Scott) Fearing of Staples, MN, Brenda (Tim) Bongs of Crosby, MN, and Alicia LaPorte of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Jamie, Joshua, Joanna, Jenell, and Jayda; great-grandchildren, Vivian, Savaha and MiKaylyn; and siblings, Theresa, Tom, Jim, Julie, Donna, Kathy, Helen and Valerie.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Clara; sons, Stephen and William; brother, Johnny and sister, Delores.
