Mary L. Booth

Mary Booth, age 84, of Sauk Rapids, MN, formerly of Sobieski, MN, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 5, 2011 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN, with Fr. Greg Mastey and Fr. Jimmy Joseph concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. There will be a Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service. Mary was born on August 8, 1926 in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the daughter of Frank & Gertrude (Rudolph) Yorek. She grew up on a farm near Sobieski and attended country school, District #45. She completed her G.E.D in 1985. She worked at Munsingwear in Little Falls for three years. She was united in marriage to Frederick J. Booth on August 8, 1945 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN. The couple made their home in Little Falls where they lived for four years. They then moved to a farm in Swan River Township where they farmed from 1949 to 1983 when they retired. Following her husband's death in 1990, Mary continued living in the country for 14 years and then moved to The Good Shepherd Community Apartments in Sauk Rapids. Mary enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, canning, cleaning, entertaining family and friends and embroidering. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bernadette (James) Borash of Rice, MN, Daniel (Judy) Booth of Sartell, MN, David (Patty) Booth of St. Cloud, MN, Raymond (Cathy) Booth of Little Falls, MN, Frederick (Lenore) Booth of Avon, MN and Barbara (Lyle) Czech of Maple Grove, MN; sibling, John (Theresa) Yorek of Little Falls, MN; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Gertrude (Rudolph) Yorek; husband, Frederick J. Booth (May 3, 1990); siblings, Eleanore (Tony) Jesnowski, Raymond (Regina) Yorek and Ted (Irene) Yorek.
