Mary Jane Okroi

Mary Jane Okroi, age 84, of Pierz, MN, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014, at the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, MN, with Father David Maciej officiating.A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday at the church. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery. A parish prayer will be said at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Mary Jane Stavish was born August 16, 1930 in Randall, MN to the late Vince and Elizabeth (Vnuk) Stavish.She attended school until the eighth grade in Randall, MN. She was united in marriage to Emil Okroi on April 13, 1948 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall, MN. The couple made their home in Buh Township, Morrison County, Minnesota.Mary Jane worked for several years at the Pierz Villa in the dietary department.She enjoyed gardening; cooking for her family, making hay, flower gardening and playing cards with family and friends.She was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Auxiliary and the Little Falls VFW Auxiliary. Mary Jane was a faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, MN.

Mary Jane will be remembered as a loving, mother and grandmother by her children, Gary Okroi of Pierz, MN, Frank Okroi of Frenchtown, MT, Robert (Nettie) Okroi of Little Falls, MN, Emil Jr. (Lisa) Okroi of Pierz, MN, Paul Okroi of Pierz, MN, James Okroi of Long Prairie, MN, Lawrence (Jackie) Okroi of Hillman, MN and Julie (Randy) Marshall of Pierz, MN; siblings, Raymond(Karen) Stavish of Frenchtown, MT, Bill (Jeanne) Stavish of Blaine, MN, Bob ( Diane) Stavish of Spring Lake Park, MN, Gordy Stavish of Frenchtown, MT, Dolores (Bob) Salber of Randall, MN and Shirley (Bernard) Gaffke of Randall, MN; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vince and Elizabeth Stavish; husband, Emil on February 15, 2013; brothers, Frank Stavish, Richard Stavish and infant, Lawrence Stavish and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Okroi.
