Mary Catherine Schraut Mary Catherine Schraut, 58 year old resident of St. Cloud, MN, formerly of Pierz, MN completed her life on earth and went home to her heavenly Father on Monday, November 3 surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with cancer. A celebration of her life and Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 7 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. With Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Pierz, MN. Friends may call 4-8 PM on Thursday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN and from 9-10:15 AM on Friday at the funeral chapel. Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4:30 PM followed by Parish Prayers at 7:30 PM. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mary C. Schraut was born May 11, 1950in Little Falls, MN to Leander and Catherine Meyer. She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1968. Mary received a diploma in Cosmetology from Wadena Vo-Tech and worked for a short time at Batzers Beauty Shop in Royalton, MN. She was united in marriage to Allen Schraut on March 15, 1969 at St. Ritas Catholic Church in Hillman, MN. The couple later divorced and remained friends. Mary attended St. Cloud State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree. She worked for Frigidaire Electrolux Home Products in St. Cloud, MN and most recently for National Vision in St. Cloud, MN. Mary was fond of cats and enjoyed sewing, gardening, quilting, finding treasures, baking, dancing, listening to music, taking and looking at photographs, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with friends, family and especially her grandchildren. She was the life of the party and her smile lit up the room. She was a former member of the Jaycee Women and Pierz Women of Today and the Hillman American Legion. She was currently a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud, MN. Left to Cherish Her Memory are her parents, Leander and Catherine Meyer of Pierz, MN; children, Brian Leander Schraut and wife, Shannon, of St. Cloud, MN, Steven Michael Schraut and wife, Sheila, of Royalton, MN, Christy Marie Hormann and husband, Brian, of Phoenix, AZ, Jeffrey Allen Schraut and significant other, Jennifer Fleck of Royalton, MN, Daniel Leon "Boo-Boo" Schraut of Hillman, MN; siblings, Clyde Meyer of Brainerd, MN, Jerome Meyer and wife, Lydia, of Eagan, MN, Cheryl Silva and husband, Bruce, of Wolcott, CT, Kathryn Meyer and life partner, Kathleen Muehlbauer of St. Paul, MN, David Meyer and wife, Jennifer, of Manalapan, N.J.. grandchildren, Skylar, Seth, Sage, Reyna, Ethan, Austin, Caitlin, Braxton nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Catherine Meyer and Peter and Catherine Banach and brothers, Leroy and Leon Meyer.
