Mary Caroline (Vener) Leidenfrost, age 100 of Little Falls, MN passed away Monday, September 11, 2006 at her daughter's home in St. Wendel Township, Stearns County, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls with Father Mark Innocenti officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00-10:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (West Chapel) in Little Falls. Christian Mothers will pray a rosary at 4:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral chapel followed by parish prayers at 7:00 P.M. Mary C. (Vener) Leidenfrost was born October 16, 1905 in Ward Springs, Stearns County, MN to the late John & Cecilia (Paggi) Vener. She grew up in Ward Springs on the family farm. Mary attended and graduated from St. Benedict's Academy in St. Joseph, MN with the Class of 1922. She attended Normal Teacher's Training through St. Cloud Teachers College in Sauk Centre, MN. Mary taught school for ten years in Lastrup, MN, Agram Township, MN, in a country school east of Pierz, MN and at Ward Springs, MN. Mary was united in marriage to Carl H. Leidenfrost on October 18, 1933 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Ward Springs, MN. Together, the couple farmed in Agram Township, Morrison County, MN until 1973 when they moved to Little Falls. Along with helping her husband farm, she also worked as a Home Health Aid and continued as a Home Health Aide after they moved to Little Falls. Carl died January 1, 1987. Mary and Carl were married 53 years. Following Carl's death, Mary continued to live in Little Falls. Due to her failing health, five weeks ago, Mary went to live with her daughter, Eileen Haeg, in Collegeville, MN where she resided until her death. She is survived by her daughters; Lucille Wielinski & husband, Simon "Sam" of Little Falls, MN, Eileen Haeg & husband, Richard, of Collegeville, MN, and Janet Johnson & husband, Jeffrey, of New Hope, MN; sister, Cecilia Vener of Sauk Centre, MN; brother, V.J. "Viv" Vener of Sauk Centre, MN; grandchildren, Marietta (Haeg) Schwartz, Gregory, Daniel, Benedict, Christopher & Timothy Haeg, Paula (Wielinski) Hurni, Steven Wielinski, Mary Kay (Wielinski) Timm & Mark Wielinski; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, Graham, Stephanie, Ian, Nicholas, Madeline, Johanna, Tony, Cecilia & Thomas. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents; brothers, Frank, Joseph & William Vener; sisters, Gertrude Grant, Sr. Dolorata "Esther" Vener and Elsie Ricker. Casketbearers are Gregory, Daniel, Benedict & Timothy Haeg and Mark & Steven Wielinski.
