Marlene Wiczek

Marlene J. Wiczek, 71 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away at her home on Monday, May 30, 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Fr. Mark Innocenti officiating. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Visitation will be held at the church two hours prior to the service. Marlene was born on June 14, 1939 in Little Falls, MN, the daughter of Henry & Esther (Sobiech) Zyvoloski. She attended school at St. Stanislaus in Sobieski and graduated from St. Francis High School. Following her schooling, Marlene began working at St. Gabriel's Hospital. She worked for many years as a ward clerk on the surgical floor. Marlene was united in marriage to Bill Wiczek on May 23, 1960 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski. Marlene left the hospital in the late seventies to work on the farm raising beef cattle with her husband, Bill. When not farming, Marlene was often baking cakes for any occasion. She was well known for her wonderful cakes and frosting. She also sold Avon products for many years. Marlene enjoyed cooking, baking pizza, gardening and farming with Bill. She was a kind, pleasant woman. Her faith was very important to her. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls where she often served communion. She was a member of the Christian Women, was on the church prayer chain and was a faithful participant in adoration. She daily prayed the rosary. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Bill of Little Falls; siblings, Eugene Zyvoloski of Little Falls, Gerald (Kathy) Zyvoloski of Little Falls, Diane (Paul) Schlichting of Motley, Sharon (Gabriel) Kulus of Little Falls and Susan (Robert) Kulus of Little Falls and many nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Esther (Sobiech) Zyvoloski; sister-in-law, Julia Zyvoloski and niece, Annette Zyvoloski.
